Gill and Jackson made us feel welcome, and were friendly and helpful hosts with plenty of good tips for the area. They cook a mean breakfast, too. A wonderful place to stay in Whitby, with a super room and adjoining bathroom.

The skylight room was great for our one-night stay, and the hotel is worth the money, not too far from the centre. Gill made us feel welcome. Everything was spotless, with great attention to detail, and breakfast was excellent. We parked outside in a disc zone; the hotel supplied the disc and parking permit. We'd stay again.

After several nights in B&Bs with the same old breakfast menus, I was thrilled by the choices here. I had roasted cherry tomatoes on brioche with halloumi, and it was so good I'm still thinking about it. My husband's full English was the best of his trip. The hosts greeted us with warm scones and tea and were lovely and friendly. Parking worked fine with the permit they provided, and the location made it easy to get to the centre. The whole house is stunning, renovated to an extremely high standard, and immaculately kept. Our large room and bathroom were comfortable, with a lovely bed and thoughtful touches: homemade biscuits, nice toiletries and a face cloth for removing make-up. We stayed for two nights at the end of a tour of the Northumberland and Yorkshire coast, and this was by far the best place we stayed. I can't recommend it highly enough and hope to return.

Gill, Jackson and Bella the cat gave us a warm welcome for our first trip to Whitby. We spent three nights at Number 6, and the beds were comfortable, the rooms and shared areas were tastefully decorated, and the breakfast choices were fantastic. It looks like somewhere you'd see in a magazine. Perfect for couples, and worth the trip to Whitby just to stay here!
