Nook Harbour Holiday Apartments

We’d booked an apartment for the fireworks, paid, and received confirmation. After travelling over 60 miles, a very rude woman greeted us from her car. When we said we had a room booked, she replied rudely and told us the property had cancelled it. The cancellation had only come through minutes before we arrived. She didn’t want to talk and went inside, trying to shut the door on us. We wouldn’t recommend it. Everywhere else was full for the event, so we’re now travelling home. Thanks, Bee.

The room was badly worn: the duvet covers were ripped, drawers were coming apart, and the kettle was in poor condition with a lot of limescale. The floors were dirty, and the toilet overflowed all over my mother and the bathroom. When we told Bee, the manager, she was rude and unhelpful, asking, “So you staying or packing?” Her abrupt manner made her very unpleasant to be around. She didn’t seem willing to make amends or compensate us for what happened. We left because we didn’t want to risk another incident. She refunded the two remaining nights, but the day was ruined. Luckily, we found another welcoming, pleasant hotel. Absolutely horrible experience. Don’t waste your money, time or effort here. There are better hotels nearby.

We had a comfortable bed and a great night’s sleep, with no complaints. The big windows had a nice sea view, and the place was clean. There was a kitchen, a little breakfast table, a sofa, two TVs and Wi-Fi. The ensuite had a good shower and loo. Fresh bedding and towels, plus tea, coffee, milk and sugar were there, along with an iron, trouser press, tea towel, dishcloth and washing-up liquid. It’s on the end of a lively stretch of seafront bars and restaurants. All good.

We had a lovely four-day break. The ground-floor apartment had a sea view, was clean, and had comfortable beds. Bee was a lovely host, and we got on really well. Treat her with respect and she’ll do the same for you. The other Scottish lady was lovely and friendly too. The pizzas next door at the restaurant are lush. All round, we’d highly recommend it.
