Seaward Hotel

The food was mostly good, but the service felt badly organised. Our meals came out about 20 minutes apart, so the two children were still waiting until everyone else had finished. One dish was burnt and had to go back. The waitress seemed lovely and was clearly left on her own and overloaded. After the chef had got the order wrong, he apparently gave her a lot of abuse, and she came back in tears. We stopped for lunch because the outdoor seating looked lovely. I don't think this was a one-off, so I'd give the place a miss.

Good value, and I'd stay again. The location is excellent, the staff are welcoming, and the basic rooms are comfortable. My bedding issue was sorted out. There are hairdryers, even though they're not listed among the facilities, and tea and coffee in the room. But there were only two tea bags and two coffee sachets, with extras costing more. For two people, especially if you both drink tea, that's just enough for a drink on arrival and none for the morning unless you pay. There's no hotel parking, though public parking is nearby.

We ordered a couple of sweets, and when we arrived the room had two single beds, one on either side. The staff were nice and the hotel was lovely, though the bath tap kept dripping. There was an empty soap bottle in the bin and the soap hadn't been replenished.

We paid a low price and got a low-cost hotel. The decor was very dated, and breakfast was lacking in quality, though there was enough of it. Staff were generally polite. Some areas could have been cleaner, but the hotel wasn't dirty.
