The breakfasts were a real highlight, with fresh local ingredients and plenty of choice. I tried both smoked salmon with scrambled egg and a full English, and the quality was excellent. I’ve stayed here a couple of times and would happily come back. It’s a great-value little B&B tucked among open fields, away from the busy roads. The two large, bright bedrooms are in a converted barn separate from the main cottage, and both were spotless, with lovely white bedding and towels. One has twin beds and a shower room; the other has a double bed and a bath, which I preferred. The lady who runs the place is friendly and very helpful. I’d recommend it without hesitation.

When we’re visiting friends nearby, this is the place we always choose, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Breakfast can be freshly cooked, with options including salmon and haddock. The barn rooms are beautifully decorated, and the little welcoming touches, like a jug of fresh milk in the fridge and cotton wool and soap in the bathroom, make a difference. Everything was kept scrupulously clean and fresh.

The grounds and setting are beautiful and very well cared for, and our room was lovely and spacious. We arrived late, though, and had trouble finding the place; the parking and entrance weren’t clearly signed. Our host was very friendly. The bath was lovely, but there was no shower. Breakfast was excellent, with cereal, fruit and a full English, plus alternatives such as salmon and egg. It really exceeded expectations.
