We found Pannett Apartments to be a great discovery for our first trip to Whitby, and we'll stay there again when we return. At first the place seemed quite compact, but it turned out to suit what we needed. It was tidy, very clean, and finished to a high standard. They'd thought of so many useful details, including washing-up liquid, washing powder, dishwasher tablets and cleaning cloths, something we haven't had in other holiday rentals. The kitchen had all the usual appliances, plenty of crockery and cutlery, plus tea, coffee and a coffee machine. There's also a dishwasher and washing machine. Self check-in was easy, and a tablet provided local information. Free Wi-Fi, a Smart TV and Amazon Echo (Alexa) were ready to use.

Sian was helpful and polite when handling my booking, but things went downhill once we reached the apartment. The plates and cooking equipment were dirty from the previous guests, and I didn't dare use the frying pan. There was rubbish in the drawers, and we had only three forks for a family of five. I sent three messages to ‘Emily’, the property manager, and got no response, though she did message us about checking out on time and told us to leave the apartment clean and tidy. We didn't receive the same respect or customer service. If management had at least acknowledged my messages, I wouldn't have left this review. I hope future guests see it before their visit to beautiful Whitby is spoiled by managers who seem not to care and just want your money. I have pictures if anyone disputes this.
