Friendly, helpful staff and reasonable prices for a seaside spot. It’s our usual place to meet friends at the start of the day, or before heading back to the hotel. There’s karaoke, you can watch your favourite football teams, or just catch up with people. A great bar for all sorts. I’ve never stayed overnight.

Everything’s right on the doorstep, and the food was very good, both breakfast and the carvery. The staff were amazingly good, friendly and professional. We booked two rooms for a weekend celebrating a 70th birthday, and both were a very high standard. My friends were just as impressed as I was, and we’ll be back. Wayne was a great help with the booking, and just as warm and friendly when we met him in person. Thank you to him.

We tried the carvery at The George Hotel for the first time and recommend the restaurant. The food was excellent, with a wide selection of vegetables, all prepared perfectly. The staff were friendly and welcoming too.

Tender, juicy meat and a good variety of fresh vegetables made the Sunday carvery absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

We paid 16 pounds for the carvery on Friday 10th April and got one small piece of beef and one small piece of turkey. There was hardly any meat, and I wouldn’t recommend the place. I’d give it 6 out of ten. I’m coming back to Whitby in August, but won’t be eating here again.
