The Cowhous at Abbey Green Farm

Our pitch had trees around it and a wild meadow behind, so it felt nicely private. Rose showed us around the lovely grounds when we arrived, and it’s obvious how much work the owners put into the site. We had a wonderful bank holiday break and I’ve already told friends and family about it.

Rose and Phillip made us feel very welcome, and our family in their caravans had a great time too. It worked so well for a weekend with several generations together. The accommodation was first class, breakfast was generous and tasty, and the homemade pizzas were freshly made and really good.

We first came across this peaceful, beautiful campsite in 2022 and have now returned. Rose was a lovely host, and we got to try the ice cream, with a great range to choose from. The shower facilities were spotless, the best we’ve come across. Already looking forward to another visit.

The farm is set well back from main roads, so the sounds are mostly wildlife and farm animals. My pitch was flat, and everything was clean and tidy. After hiking and wild camping in Scotland, that power shower was very welcome. Rose gave me a warm welcome and pointed out facilities, local walks and places to visit. The airy bathrooms were spacious, and there’s a washing machine and washing-up area. I only stayed briefly, but it was a lovely experience. I preordered a Hawaiian pizza too. It was made from scratch, good value and delicious.
