The White Hart

For the price, I expected better. The room smelled noticeably from the bathroom, wasn’t clean, and had half-drunk bottles left beside the bed. It clearly hadn’t been checked properly before guests arrived. I was only there for a party down the road, so I used the room to change and sleep. I wouldn’t stay there for anything more than that. A painfully average stay.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and my room was clean, though pretty Spartan. I couldn’t unpack because there wasn’t even a wardrobe. From the outside it looks grand enough, and it’s in a great central spot, but inside the hotel is showing its age.

We had a lovely stay, with a beautiful room and delicious breakfast. The staff were so kind and welcoming. They weren’t serving food that evening, but suggested good places nearby and even let us eat our takeaway curry there, with plates and cutlery provided. We sat in the garden to hear the band, but they were just about to play their last song. When we said we were disappointed, they kindly agreed to carry on entertaining us while we stuffed our faces. Such a lovely gesture. The atmosphere with the locals was great, and the staff deserved a pint after their shift. Thank you, Jenny and Daz xx

We had a great lunch here. The staff were really friendly, and the prices were reasonable.
