We had a lovely weekend at this little gem just outside Hay on Wye. Our clean, spacious room had an en suite, and breakfast was included and delicious. Craig was a hospitable, accommodating host. Thanks for such a pleasant stay 😊

We had a warm welcome and would happily stay again. The traditional pub was comfortable, the bed very comfy and the en suite big. The location worked perfectly for our stay. Our host was friendly, helpful and attentive, and the big breakfast was mega. We also enjoyed a delicious evening meal and had a good choice of wine.

That tomato salad starter blew my mind, so please get it if you go. The food is incredible, and the owners are absolutely lovely. Service was impeccable, with staff really on it. You can tell things run like a well oiled machine. The pub has a warm, cosy atmosphere and beautiful vintage decorations. 10/10 recommend!!!!

The building is lovely, the staff were polite, and the real ales were well kept. But the food disappointed us. It was nicely cooked, yet portions were small, and it arrived lukewarm on cold plates. The roast beef was wafer thin, and each plate had two potatoes that were hard and almost cold, as if cooked hours earlier. The £22 lemon sole was a small fillet about the size of a large fish finger. We called in for Sunday lunch yesterday. After paying, I only thought to examine the bill and was shocked to find a 10% service charge added without anyone telling us. It's a pub, not a restaurant. Gratuities should be up to the customer.
