The food was on another level, and the service was second to none. From front of house to the waiting staff, the whole team was very professional. It was a pleasure to stay at this lovely hotel in the Lake District. We'll definitely return and recommend it.

We came back to Overwater Hall for an anniversary dinner, and the cooking was still at a very high standard. The chocolate desserts were the best I've ever had, and I can especially recommend the lamb salad starter and beef fillet main. Three courses cost a fixed £65. The service and ambience were excellent. Overwater Hall deserves a place on any visit to the Lakes.

Dogs are welcome, though naturally they can't come into the dining room. If yours is with you at dinner, they'll set up a table in the bar, which is lovely too. The dining room is lovely as well. We found the homemade liqueurs and shortbread in our room tasty, and a nice touch. The service was friendly and excellent. Highly recommended, and we'll be back.

The owners and staff deserve a big compliment. We felt very welcome at Overwater Hall Hotel, and loved the atmosphere in every room we went into, from the lounge and bar to the dining room and even the stairs. We had dinner there on both evenings, and both meals were superb.

The food left me lost for words. It was genuinely the best restaurant meal I've ever had. Overwater Hall felt like an old-world country stay as soon as I walked in, far more than just a hotel or restaurant visit. The staff were fantastic and helpful, and the rooms gorgeous. If you love country homes, Bridgerton and The Crown, you'll love it.
