I was feeling poorly and even managed to sleep on the floor in the shower and toilet block for a few hours. It was warm, with radiators and a hairdryer, and the facilities are genuinely lovely for a campsite. There’s plenty of room on each pitch, big toilets and showers, and a good range of cleaning products. The pot wash has everything you need, plus there’s a kettle, fridge and microwave. A handy little shop and really helpful staff too. Lovely spot in the Lake District. I’d happily come back and would recommend it.

The site was very clean and well cared for, and the staff were great. We had a deluxe hardstanding pitch with electric, water and drainage, plus a hot tub, outdoor dining space, kitchenette and private indoor toilet and shower. There’s also a dog walking area, though no playground. Getting around without a vehicle was the difficult bit. There’s no public transport, and it’s about an hour’s walk in any direction to a nearby cafe or restaurant. That was fine if you had a car or bike, but I only had our 3.5 tonne motor home.

There’s an active farm next to the campsite, so you’ll hear some early morning mooing. We didn’t mind, it added to the stay. The on-site shop came in handy for the bits we’d forgotten, and the takeaway pizza was delicious. A beautiful campsite with clean, excellent facilities. Would highly recommend.

The dog walk was great, with spots where they could run free, and the location is beautiful. The showers and toilets were spotless, and hiring one of the complete fire pit kits was well worth it. Staff were friendly, and the shop had all we needed. Fantastic site, can’t recommend it enough. We’ll definitely be back.
