Glaisnock Guest House

We stopped at Shoots and Leaves Cafe on the way back from Ireland and had a lovely time. We all ordered vegetarian breakfasts, which were excellent quality, and the service was great. There’s also a small second-hand library where you can sit and read or buy a book. Thanks for a lovely experience.

The coffee was the best I've had in years, and breakfast was great, with a good portion even after I left a couple of items off. I was especially pleased to find good gluten-free choices, which I hadn't expected. The food quality was brilliant, and breakfast for two with coffee and juice cost £10, a bargain. We visited this brilliant little family-run cafe for breakfast after staying at their sister hotel. The staff were very warm and friendly. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The room was clean, spacious and tidy, and Stephanie's food was tasty and good value. Breakfast was delicious, and the small evening menu was just as good. The owners go out of their way to make a stay pleasant. A fantastic find in Wigtown, highly recommended if you need a room. I'll definitely be back, though I may be competing for a room next time.

From the outside it looks small, but inside the restaurant has an impressive layout and decor. There are plenty of books and papers to read, plus DVDs to buy. The menu has some interesting options, and the friendly staff know their gluten-free choices well. Definitely recommend it.
