Beech Hill Hotel & Spa

Breakfast was lovely, with a proper English breakfast and a view, for £15 per person. The food at the hotel was a real highlight, which you don't always get at a beautiful place like this. Our room was extra clean and neat, and the staff were friendly. We loved the gorgeous views, though our £160-a-night view room was on the left side, with bushes and a car park blocking about half the view. We knew other rooms might have had a better one.

The spa was immaculate and so relaxing, and my hot stone massage was incredible. Megan was warm and professional, and made the treatment feel extra special. It was one of the best massages I've had, and I'll ask for her again next time. Check-in was just as welcoming, with a friendly staff member explaining where everything was. A gorgeous hotel, and I'd happily recommend the stay and spa.

The hot tub on our deck looked out over lake Windermere, the forests and Cumbria's hills, and we had beautiful weather too. Our suite was spacious, with a big comfortable bed and a luxury bath and shower. We came on a personal recommendation and the stay surpassed what we expected. Thanks to Carl, Morgan, Keira and Michelle at reception for helping make it such a good visit, and to Paulina at the bar for the fabulous afternoon tea. Freddie, Kieran and Ewan kept breakfast running efficiently and cheerfully. We had the spa facilities to ourselves, and Megan gave us a lovely welcome. We'll be back. The new outdoor infinity pool and spa look like they'll be amazing.

For my 25th birthday, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a lakeside suite with a hot tub and stunning views. The male receptionist gave us such a warm welcome and set a lovely tone right away. Later, Carl, Lauren and Freddie at the bar made us feel at home, and the drinks were fantastic. The service was impeccable throughout. A brilliant birthday stay, and I'll recommend it and come back.
