Dalecote Guest House

I’ve just got home after two nights and already didn’t want to leave. It felt like a home from home, not your standard B&B. Sarah and Rick were friendly, welcoming and accommodating, and nothing seemed too much trouble. You can tell they care about what they offer. The rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated, kept to a high standard and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was fit for a king. Can’t wait to come back.

Muffin the dog is the most adorable little pup! Sarah was lovely and welcoming and made us feel at home. Our room was clean and as expected, and it was a perfect spot for a little weekend away. Breakfast was lovely, though it would be great to have some fruit options too. We’d definitely come back.

The guesthouse is in a great spot for exploring, with a very short walk to what you need and about 20 minutes on foot to the lake. We got lucky with good weather, which made everything feel brighter. I liked having the freedom to come and go, and the nearby car park was handy and reasonably priced. You can usually park right outside with a permit, but they were all in use during our stay. We didn’t see the host, though they were easy to reach by phone. We did hear what sounded like doors constantly opening and closing and rows between them. Their voices carried through the guesthouse and took away some of the relaxation. The room and house themselves were beautiful.

Breakfast had plenty of choice and the food was delicious. Sarah was a friendly, welcoming host, and the accommodation was clean and nicely presented. It’s within walking distance of many amenities. We look forward to returning.
