The Westmorland Inn

We met family for Sunday lunch. The menu had lots of popular choices, and two of us ordered the Sunday lunch with honey glazed ham and an enormous Yorkshire pudding. All the meals were lovely, and the atmosphere felt welcoming.

The barman knew his trade and served well kept beer. Even in the chilly off peak season, he kept the pub busy and welcoming. He remembered a cocktail someone in our group had ordered months ago, even though it was no longer on the menu, and made us feel that our custom mattered. Our visits were a real pleasure. We'll be back!

We stayed from Tuesday until this morning, when we headed home. Luke greeted us at check in, which was smooth, and politely showed us to room 8. The room was spotless thanks to Carrissa, and the bathroom was great, with a huge walk in shower. Best of all was the lake view. I could never get bored of it. The cosy bar was lovely too, and Luke gave us fantastic service. He also makes amazing cocktails. Restaurants and eateries were only a few steps away. The Angel Inn, about five minutes down the road, serves delicious food, and Mio Mondo is a two minute walk away for great breakfasts and toasties. The lake is just at the bottom of the road, and we'd recommend taking the boat trip. We'd absolutely stay again and recommend it to anyone. Thank you, Westmorland Inn, you were all fantastic 😊

The four of us had Christmas dinner here, and everything was cooked to perfection. The turkey was moist, the food arrived hot, and the Yorkshire puddings and vegetables were lovely. It was good value, and we enjoyed the festive cocktail and drinks at the upstairs bar before and after dinner. The staff were attentive and chatty, and the chef came to ask if we enjoyed our meal. Nothing to fault, 10/10. We'll book again for next year. Well done 👍🏻
