The Star Inn

My chicken Sunday roast was terrible for £16. The roast potatoes tasted good, but there were only three, a couple of greens, some peas and one tiny chicken thigh. The Yorkshire pudding was reheated and chewy. I was still hungry afterwards. And instead of nice pub-style lemonade, I got sparkling water mixed with syrup. Please sort out the roast portion.

Just had Fish and Chips at The Star. The food was hot and fresh, the service was super, and prices were very reasonable. The staff were really friendly. The restaurant wasn’t too busy, there was no loud music and no dogs, thank goodness, so we could have a good conversation.

The pub has real English character, and the friendly, professional staff made the meal especially pleasant. The Sunday roast was excellent, and a few pints of good English ale went down nicely.

The food took a long time, there were no hot drinks, and we felt hurried away from the table before we were finished. Staff came across as pretty arrogant, which is a real shame. It seems they rely on the location as their selling point and assume customers won't return. I'd probably say avoid it for now, but they'll have to prove otherwise. We'll see.
