The views are lovely, and the site feels tucked away even though town isn't too far. We camped for two nights and found it good value. There are firepits dotted around that you can move, drinking water taps, and a little book library in a shed. The toilets take a bit of getting used to, and there are no showers. Staff were nice, and there's one large bin on site. A relaxed, comfortable choice if you want camping that's a bit wilder.

We had plenty of room to set up properly, and the price felt right. My husband, our three dogs and I loved the laid-back, old-school feel. It's close to wookey hole, too. Just be aware there are compost toilets and no showers. That suited us, but it's good to know in advance.

There are good walks nearby, and the Mendip Communications Tower thingy looks good from the campsite. It’s a quiet place with a nice atmosphere, swings, and loads of field space for football or other games. The price is great, though the facilities are basic: compost toilets and no showers. I’d say it works well for a night or two, but the lack of showers would put me off staying three nights or longer.

You can pitch wherever you like, with no marked-out spots, and there are fire pits around to use. The compost toilets were clean and had plenty of supplies. We only stayed one night, but I’ll definitely come back for a longer stay.

Being able to pick your own pitch was nice, and there are three fields, each with a small wooden shed for compost toilets. Toilet paper and sawdust were well stocked. The location worked well for Ebborway gorge, wookey, Glastonbury and wells, and there's a lovely viewpoint nearby for sunset. We stayed two nights, but the quiet rules weren't followed and there was no warden at night. At 11pm one camper arrived with both cars running, lights on and doors slamming for almost two and a half hours. The next night, a couple of groups also ignored quiet time after 11pm. There are no washing facilities, which isn't great. A few small changes could make this campsite amazing.
