The bacon rolls and chips were cooked really well, and the restaurant felt bright and lively. We’d been unsure where to go for lunch, but my wife, mum and I were glad we found this place. The two staff members who greeted us were smiling, polite and accommodating, and let us choose from several tables. They treated us with respect, which matters a lot to us when we eat out, and their welcome quickly put us at ease. I’d recommend it for the food, service and atmosphere.

We only came for Sunday lunch, not a stay, and I’m glad we did. I wasn’t sure about a last-minute booking at the only place with room, but this was the best pub roast I’ve had all year. The Yorkshire puddings were huge, and the cauliflower cheese, carrots and parsnips were delicious and cooked just right. The sticky toffee pudding was so good I wish I’d taken some home. Definitely a good place to eat when you’re visiting Wooton Basset.

There were 12 of us arranging a family meal the night before a wedding nearby, and finding somewhere close to our accommodation that could handle the group had been difficult. We chose the Angel and had a much better evening than we’d expected. They asked us to pre-order, which made sense for a large party, and everything served matched our choices. The food came quickly, hot, nicely presented and made with quality ingredients. They also took proper care with the allergies in our group. Despite a busy, noisy night and another private function, the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. Thanks to everyone working that evening. We’ll come back if we’re in the area again.

We had a great evening of Christmas drinks at the Angel with a group from our membership. Even with the pub busy and lively, we could all sit together. The atmosphere was lovely and the bar staff were friendly.

Everything was lovely during our stay, from the room to the food and drinks. I left my phone behind, and Aldo went out of his way to get it back to me within 24 hours. I can’t thank him enough.
