Just got home from my hen party stay at Lower Tundridge Cottage, and we had an amazing time. The owners welcomed me on arrival and were genuinely lovely, always happy to chat and ready to help all of us. We were lucky with the weather, so we spent most of our time in the lovely garden. There was enough seating and table space for a big group, and the outdoor lighting made it feel special. The hot tub was popular with everyone, clean and clearly well maintained. The area is so peaceful, and on a clear night the sky is beautiful with very little light polution. The house has plenty of space, with large bedrooms and a great shared living and dining area. The beds were comfortable, the bedrooms cosy, and the bathrooms had everything we needed, including plenty of toilet roll and hair and body wash. I loved the kitchen too. Three ovens made a real difference for the buffet and pizzas, and the table easily fit 15 people. Tea, coffee, sugar and loads of cookware were supplied, even kitchen scales. There aren't many shops close by, so you'll need to drive unless you're going to the farm shop. Supermarkets do deliver through Just Eat and Deliveroo. I read that the place could be hard to find, but we had no trouble. Google Maps took us right to the gate. I'd definitely recommend Lower Tundridge Cottage to groups looking for a great house to celebrate in.

We had a wonderful weekend here, so I'm not sure where the bad reviews came from. There were 13 of us and the place had all the amenities we needed. It was cosy and comfortable, in a beautiful spot with plenty of walks nearby. Would recommend!

We had a fantastic weekend with old friends. The cottage was spotless and had great indoor and outdoor places to spend time together. The countryside around it is beautiful, and we were well looked after. The owners were friendly and responsive, and helped make the weekend a great one.

We were stunned to find a £382 charge on our card after checkout, with no warning, explanation or consent. The owners said it was for “damaged linen” and a “damaged wall”, but didn't provide evidence until we asked. Even then, they only sent photos of towels, with nothing showing the alleged wall damage. I honestly can't see how a wall could have been damaged. What do they think we were doing? The towels look like ordinary used towels. They weren't pristine, but after three days of use, they looked like something a normal wash should handle. Nothing suggests permanent damage or misuse. What really shocked me was being charged without any communication. Under common law principles of fairness and due process, they should notify us of the alleged damage, provide reasonable evidence, and give us a chance to respond or dispute it. Charging without consent is an unauthorised deduction or possibly a breach of contract. What would the world be if it didn't! These are unfair trading practises, and it's a shame Lower Tundridge Cotage has adopted them. Such a waste of an otherwise nice business. I'm attaching photos of how clean the place was, though the cobwebs don't show up. We wouldn't have minded the cleanliness if the owners hadn't been dishonest after checkout.

I recently spent a weekend here for my wife's birthday and a family get together, and there were a lot of problems. Two upstairs beds broke, apparently because they had cheap slats. The living room chairs around the large table were poor quality and very unsteady, with backs that rocked. Some of the tiled living room floor was cracked or broken. We reported it, but have now been blamed for the damage, and the owner has put the cost of replacing one tile at £330. We also had a water leak and got no reply when we contacted the owner. One bedroom en-suite toilet was leaking too, and the heated towel rail in the circular downstairs bedroom had paint flaking off it. When the owner came to discuss the beds, they said clearly that we had broken them, even though a slat was already broken and there were no clips in place. The whole property needs a lot of maintenance, and in my opinion it wasn't worth the £2000 I paid for a weekend. I'd avoid it at all costs.
