The Old Ginn House Inn

The pie I took home after an earlier visit had black, burnt pastry on the inside, though it was a generous portion. This time, when six of us came for a family meal, there was just one dish of chips for the table, including two big lads with healthy appetites. A few weeks before, two of us had received almost the same amount. We mentioned the difference and asked the waitress if we could have more; I heard her say she’d see, but none came. The food was fine otherwise. These are small complaints about one of my favourite local places, and I hope to be back next week.

Those chips are legendary and a must try. Good food, generous portions, and a nice vibe. I was glad to find this place, even though I was only stopping over. Already want those chips again 😬

There’s a good range of dishes, and the prices are about what you’d expect for a pub restaurant. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and the food is first rate. I’d recommend it to family and friends.

My earlier visit was a 4.5 out of 5, but the latest one let me down. The pies were too salty, and the two men behind the bar taking orders seemed disengaged and nearly rude. I’ll give it another try, though I’ve stopped recommending it to friends for now.
