The pizzas were delicious, and the staff were amazing. Such a lovely place, I’d definitely recommend it. Fabulous all round.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. There’s seating outside with umbrellas, plus a pool table and big screens showing sport. The drinks are well priced too. 🍷🥤🍺🥃

Friendly people all the way from the bar and waiting staff to the landlord and chef. The Marston steak and ale pie is a must if you’re a pie fan, and you can follow it with a few games of pool or darts. The pecan brownies are a treat as well. I’d absolutely come back.

The breakfast was tiny, with no toast, fruit juice, mushrooms, fried bread or hash browns. The sausages seemed poor quality, the fried eggs were solid from being overcooked, and we got one small coffee with no offer of a refill. We left cold, tired and extremely hungry after a night with barely any sleep. The room was so cold that we went to bed fully dressed, and I woke about every hour for another coffee to try and warm up. The heating switched off and never came back on while we were there. The shower was stone cold, the toilet wouldn’t flush properly, there was nowhere to put toiletries in the shower and no spare blankets in the cupboards. Around 10 p.m. there was a lot of banging, too. First impressions had been much better: it’s a pretty hotel, the room was clean with lovely decor, and the TV was huge. There was only one coffee pod for the two of us, but they brought more straight away when we asked. If you stay here, bring a fan heater, extra blankets and food to make up for breakfast. An absolute no for me, avoid it at all costs.
