There were some useful things here: good water pressure, a washing machine and dishwasher, a modern kitchen, plenty of cutlery and plates, and a table that easily seats ten, with four on each bench and two at the ends. The little paved garden, easy key collection, good location, and wooden shutters that help keep the heat out were also positives. We were away for a long weekend and, being nearby, didn’t mind sharing two bathrooms between ten of us. Four of us sort of shared one room, since one of the proper double rooms has a “sleeps 2” bed in it. There weren’t enough bin bags, and the shampoo and shower gel only covered one shower per person per bathroom. Some bedding looked like it needed a better clean. The stair carpet was loose, and I fell but managed to catch myself. The neighbours felt weird, with men sitting on their doorsteps, which could make a group of girls uncomfortable. The street requires a parking permit. The owner or renter assured us they’d arranged it online, so no physical permit was needed, but spaces are still not guaranteed. It’s a busy street, even with permit-holder parking, especially if you bring more than one car.
