The music bass was the one downside, it made having a quiet conversation difficult. Still, the place has a great atmosphere. Since the new owners took over, the pub feels warmer and the welcome and attentive service have improved. The dining areas are much more inviting too. The food was good quality, and the real ale was good. We had the rack and fish and chips, both excellent. The menu leans heavily towards meat, so there weren't many choices for vegetarians. Hopefully that changes from time to time.

Our favourite waitress is moving to Cromer, and we’re really going to miss her. Good luck, my lovely! The ex-Flagship ladies xxx. We took this photo four years ago. We still meet here regularly for lunch and a catch-up, as we all used to work together. The Bird in Hand has never let us down. Yesterday the food, wine, and company were as awesome as ever.

We hadn't visited in years, but my son chose the place for his 13th birthday because he wanted a good burger. We booked after doing some research, and it was worth it. Both boys said their burgers were the best they'd had, my husband called his steak one of the best he's ever eaten, and my fish and chips was great. The portions were so generous we couldn't finish everything. We'll definitely be back.

I was tempted to keep this breakfast spot to myself since it seems not many people know they serve breakfast. But after trying it, I had to write something. The produce was fresh, the service excellent, and the coffee and food were both good. It was an amazing experience, every bit as good as dinner here, which we come for regularly and really enjoy. Compliments to the chef, five stars. We'll definitely be back.

The rooms aren't something I can comment on, as we haven't stayed overnight. For family meals, though, we've been a couple of times and everything we've ordered has been delicious. We were sorry to see the previous menu go, but the new one had plenty of dishes we all liked. Service has been faster on some visits than others, though we've never had an unreasonable wait. Calling it a hidden gem feels a bit clichéd, but I can't think of a better way to describe it.
