Ashbourne House

This was our third two-night visit, and this hotel is now definitely our go-to place when we're in York. We had a fabulous king-size room this time, beautifully presented, scrupulously clean, and so comfortable. It had everything we needed and more. Breakfast and service were faultless, and Fiona was, as always, a friendly and helpful host. Thank you so much. We're already looking forward to coming back. Jackie and John

We had a most enjoyable two-night stay, with spotless, well-equipped room and excellent breakfasts. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, and we'd happily stay again and recommend the place. We're both in our mid-eighties, though, and found the stairs to the third floor difficult. If we visit again, we'd need to book a room on a lower floor. Many thanks for a very comfortable stay.

Ashbourne House is in a great spot, about a 25-minute walk into York centre, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was very nice, too. We'd happily recommend it and are sure to visit again. The room was spacious, spotless, and lovely, with a super-king bed that we found very comfortable. Nice details included toilet-room spray and a dedicated place to do your hair and make-up. The ceiling fan was useful, and its remote let us control both the lights and fan from anywhere in the room. There was also a large TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and lots of other channels. We couldn't fault it.

We didn't try breakfast, so can't comment on it, though it smelled lovely as we checked out. The hosts were very accommodating, and the room was lovely. It's a great location, about a mile's walk along the river to York centre. We'll definitely return.
