The owners made the weekend feel even more relaxing than we'd hoped. They were genuinely welcoming to the three of us, including our nine-month-old, and had a travel cot and baby monitor ready. That meant we could head downstairs in the evening and use the living room. They were happy to help with anything, made amazing breakfasts with a daily special, and gave us great restaurant recommendations. They also know York inside out. We stayed for our anniversary weekend.

The owners did so much to make our few days away memorable. Our room was beautiful, and breakfast was fantastic. The place is wonderfully situated for getting to York and the attractions around it.

I recently stayed here with my husband, when there seemed to be fewer guests than usual. Every service was superb. I really enjoyed the traditional British house style of this hotel.

Louise and Mark made us feel more than welcome during our three-night stay at Blakeney Guest House. It was our 40th wedding anniversary, and a bottle of prosecco was waiting when we arrived, thank you very much. Our room was superb and the bed very comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent, with a different special available each morning. The four-star rating is very well deserved. We'd have no hesitation recommending a stay here, and look forward to coming back next year. Blanche & Ray

I've stayed here about three times, and the couple who own Blakeney House go above and beyond to make sure their guests are well looked after. They give you a lovely, warm welcome. If you're going to York, this is a lovely place to stay.
