The location is brilliant, just outside the city walls near Monk Bar Gate, and everything was walkable. It’s a good place to stay for 5 days, and we’d certainly return. One snag was the visitor information saying Sainsbury's was a 5 minute walk away. It’s closed, apparently for some time, and the nearest food stores seem to be ASDA or Waitrose, both requiring a car journey. The kitchen, dining and lounge area was comfortable and well proportioned, but could use a cupboard for dry food. With two small children, we struggled to stop them unpacking the bags. The ground floor bedrooms were comfortable but a little small, with only a tiny hanging rail for clothes. The skylight in those rooms is fine, but opening or closing its blind means standing on the bed. A self-closing mechanism would help mature guests. The bathrooms were clean and okay, except the wash hand basins are far too small. Shaving meant getting lots of water on the floor. The apartment’s entrance door is part of a bi-fold system, which might be great in summer but was very difficult to open and close. The paved area between the parking area and apartment was extremely slippery and needed great care. A small salt bin would have been a good idea. I hope these comments are taken as constructive criticism.

Even with awful weather, it was lovely to have a warm apartment to come back to. It was spotless, finished to a high standard, comfortable throughout and had everything we needed. The doorstep was a little bigger than I expected, but as an ambulatory wheelchair user I managed. They had told me about it beforehand. Communication was professional yet friendly. I’d definitely recommend them. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We could make the most of our few days because the apartments are so close to the centre and everything was within walking distance. The place was cosy and modern, clean and well looked after, with every facility we needed and a very reasonable price. York is a beautiful little city, and one day is never enough to take in everything it has to offer. Thanks for having me and my partner.

The apartment was lovely and warm, with really big, very comfortable beds. We had a lovely New Year stay and there was no noise at all. Everything we needed was there. I’d have given it five stars, but the shower over the bath was too hot to stand under properly and we couldn’t make it cooler. One of the downstairs showers was the opposite, with no hot water. Apart from that, fab. I’d go back.

Being close to the wall and city centre makes the property even more appealing. It was perfect, with luxury accommodation that felt like home. I’ll highly recommend it to all my friends.
