Martin and Bev made us feel very welcome, and their local knowledge was incredibly helpful. The location is really good too, with a 10-minute walk along the river or easy public transport. Breakfast was fantastic, with excellent quality. We’d stay again.

We felt at home at Gregory’s Guest House from the moment we arrived. Bev and Martin were so welcoming and helpful, and seemed to know everything about the area and places to visit around York. As a married gay couple, we sometimes pick up an uncomfortable atmosphere in other places, but we felt completely welcome here. Our room was lovely and had everything we needed. Street parking was easy with the permit provided when we arrived. York is a 10-15 minute walk, either along the street past lots of restaurants or beside the river. The walk brings you to Clifford’s Castle, and the Shambles is another five minutes on foot. We’ll definitely be back to this beautiful guest house. Thanks, Bev and Martin, from Sue and Michaela.

The hosts were friendly and helpful, sharing lots of information that made our stay better. Our room was comfortable, and the homemade biscuits were lovely. Breakfasts were delicious, especially the homemade wholemeal bread and raspberry jam.

It’s a great spot on a lovely local high street, and York centre is a 10-minute walk alongside the River Ouse. Bev and Martin were very welcoming and accommodating. They offered us plenty of choices for a vegan cooked breakfast, and tea and coffee when we arrived. We’re thinking of coming back for the Christmas markets.

Gregorys was lovely and clean, and the location was great, just a 20-minute walk into York. From our arrival until we left, Martin and Bev were wonderful hosts. Martin brought our cases up after giving us free parking permits, and Bev arrived with coffee and homemade shortbread. It’s my husband’s favourite, so he was really pleased. The breakfasts were amazing and made with locally sourced ingredients. We also enjoyed the nearby Italian restaurant, especially its ice cream, and had a drink at the local pub while trying the local gin. We had such a great time and can’t wait to return, hopefully later this year. Thanks, Martin and Bev.
