Apartment 4 | 27/12/2025 For £295 per night, this was completely unacceptable, and we wouldn't stay again. We arrived at 4pm with children and found the apartment unclean and not ready for check-in. The toilets, floors, cupboards, and surfaces were dirty and unhygienic. We contacted the property straight away and someone came briefly, but they only changed the beds, not the sofa bed, and the cleaning they did was superficial. It still wasn't hygienically clean. By 6pm, with children and no real option, we bought cleaning products and cleaned it ourselves. There was also a £150 deposit charged after payment. It was refunded two days later, rather than after checkout, which is usually standard.

The apartment had everything we needed, and the beds were extremely comfortable. It's only a few minutes' walk to the city centre, yet peaceful enough, with the car park immediately behind the building. Minster's Reach is a stunning place in a perfect spot. We'll definitely come back next time we're in York.

The bedroom bed was comfortable, and the pull-out sofa bed apparently felt better than expected, though my son didn't elaborate. The unit was tidy and a reasonable walk from York's old town, with plenty of shops to browse. We also had some very good food at the Duke of York pub, which I'd rate 5/5. It felt like the place might have been refurbished recently, since many appliances and fittings showed very little wear. The general feel was good, though we were disappointed that basics like salt and pepper weren't provided.

This is my go-to place to stay in York, so I'll definitely return. I love being close to the centre while still having a quiet spot, and the private courtyard means I can head out to see the sites and come back for some p and q. Since my last visit, the bathroom's been renovated. I liked the tiling, storage, and shower. The bed was comfortable with crisp sheets, and the sitting room and open plan kitchen were comfortable too. The kitchen had everything I needed, and I really liked the complimentary gin and chocolates.

We stayed in a comfortable, well presented flat that was toasty warm even in January, and it had all the equipment we needed. The apartment is right by the sights, with a handy car park nearby, making it a perfect base for exploring glorious York. I can highly recommend it for comfort and location. We'll be back soon, thanks.
