Allamanda Beach Hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful, but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It’s extremely rundown, with no restaurant or bar on site. It basically feels like a flop house on the beach.

The air conditioning leaked, leaving my bag soaked and stained and about 40% of my clothes wet. Customer service was great, though, and arranged a late checkout so everything could dry. The location is excellent for the price, with the beach and free day beds a two minute walk away and a grocery store five minutes away. Beds and bathroom were good too. Nearby festival music can carry on until 3am and vibrate through the room, so bring an eye mask and earplugs if you stay then. Despite those issues, I recommend the hotel. Thanks for having us!

The staff are kind and courteous, and the rooms are basic but comfortable, with hot and cold water every day and air conditioning. You’re close to the beach, transport, restaurants, and a large grocery store and mall. At night the poor lighting makes the place feel dark and scary, and there’s no front desk staff after certain hours, restaurant, or gym. The room lighting is dim too, which might suit a romantic getaway but didn’t work for me. The cleaner kept leaving the sliding door open, which is a big safety concern, so check those doors. The park next door can get noisy, though closing the door and drawing the curtains helped. There’s no elevator, so be ready to carry heavy bags upstairs. They still have a lot to improve, but seem comfortable offering a very basic, no frills stay.

It’s in an amazing location, but the property badly needs updating. With some care, the resort has a lot of potential.
