Grooms Beach Villa & Resort

The location is the best part. If the nearby roosters wake you in the morning, the beach is just 100 meters away. It’s a jewel of Grenada, with a path to the sea between the 5***** hotel and the Monkey bar, and the area feels quiet and peaceful. I stayed at the Grooms beach in May 2024 after a long sail from Miami on my boat. The hotel was very nice: my standard room was spacious, the bathroom huge, and the bed comfortable, with lots of pillows and two different quilts. Breakfast is served on the open veranda, with plenty of options for 40 Caribbean dollars. The staff were polite and helpful, and the general manager helped with transportation and other needs. I’d definitely come back.

We looked at other restaurants nearby, but this small hotel became our favourite. We’ve had dinner here three times. The menu is limited, though the food is very good and fairly priced. The chef is happy to adjust a meal to your specifications, there’s a reasonable wine selection, and the bucket we ordered arrived quickly. We chose a table overlooking the sea.

There’s a sweet little beach just a few minutes’ walk away, and the hotel is right near the airport. The pool and rooms were clean, the rooms a good size, and the walk-in shower was large. The A/C kept the room cold at night. When my toilet overflowed one night, the staff fixed it quickly and were very apologetic. I’d recommend Grooms Beach to anyone going to Grenada.

The pool and lounge chairs make for a peaceful spot, and there’s a path to two nearby beaches that are nice for quiet time in the invigorating waves. The villas on the top two floors are lovely, with full kitchens, modern appliances, and patios with a view. The ground-floor rooms are basic, with no kitchen, and feel like a cheap hotel by comparison. The restaurant menu is limited, the food prices are steep, and the bar drinks are overpriced too. It gets lonely and quiet here at night, since the restaurant closes early, and that can feel a bit depressing.
