Hotel Sapphire Bakuriani

We spent two nights here, and they were some of our loveliest. The pool has a luxurious design and the water is very hot. The two women working the evening and morning shifts were always smiling, polite, and quick to respond. Thank you to them. The hotel is beautiful, and I’d happily stay again. I also wrote down our expenses in Arabic and English in the diary at reception.

We came from Tbilisi for a couple of days to unwind, and the place was wonderful. The outdoor jacuzzi pool was amazing, especially in winter, and there’s also a dry sauna and hammam. Breakfast was lovely, with polite staff. Our clean room had everything we needed, including toothbrushes and toothpaste, slippers, robes, soap and toiletries, a coffee machine, minibar, and TV. There’s also a room with a PS4 and board games. If you arrive by car, there’s a small parking area right by the entrance. Thank you, everything was super!

The rooms are tidy and clean, and the hotel itself is fine. The young barman/waiter was friendly and kind, and did his best to make up for the long wait for food. The shared facilities were a different story: I saw ants around the breakfast buffet, and the steam bath smelled bad and wasn’t warm enough. I’m also concerned the jacuzzi water may not be cleaned or changed often. I came back from there with spots on my body and a bacterial infection. It’s a real pity, since these facilities are nice and rare in Bakuriani, but getting an infection on vacation is awful. If you stay here, I’d avoid using the jacuzzi, sauna, and steam bath, and stick to sleeping and showering in the room.

The staff made a good impression with their warm welcome and steady kindness. I appreciated Salome at reception and Andrae among the staff. Breakfast was fine and met the basics, though it wasn’t anything special. Room service fell short, and the laundry came back with my clothes still dirty. That was frustrating and unacceptable, and those problems had a real effect on my stay.
