Boutique Hotel Hostel MEDUSA

The location was handy, near Batumi’s central bus stand and the Argo cable car, with public transport about 100 meters away. My dorm room was quiet enough, clean, and the kitchen was clean too. The beach view from the side wasn’t much, but the street view was great. I liked the atmosphere, though the service was a strange experience: you have to book before entering a dorm or room, and once the landlady wouldn’t let me check in without an advance booking. Price-wise, it was somewhere in the middle, neither very cheap nor very expensive.

We hope to visit again soon. The hotel is within walking distance of the city center, close to the mosque and halal restaurants, and breakfast was delicious. The rooms felt cozy, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It’s a great example of a good hotel.

Those were the worst two days of my life. The rooms were extremely dirty and looked nothing like the booking photos. We found cockroaches in the room, including in the bed and among our luggage. Sanitation and hygiene were at zero. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel even if the alternative were sleeping in the street.

The breakfast was much more generous than at any other hostel I’ve stayed in. The place felt cozy, the staff were helpful, and the rooms were very clean. I think it’s worth staying here.
