The family who runs this B&B were kind and attentive, and the breakfast was generous and really good. Gelati Monastery is very close by, though it was unfortunately being restored when we visited. Inside, the villa is lovely, but it could use some work. The balcony outside our room was damaged, and the entrance needs a bit of maintenance too.

Nina made us feel so welcome, even though we arrived at her doorstep with almost no notice. The house has a lovely classical style inside and out, and the surrounding landscape is peaceful and beautiful. When I was feeling ill and dehydrated, she shared some home remedies that made me feel better straight away. I felt well enough the next morning to enjoy her fantastic breakfast and walk up to Gelati Monastery. We only ended up at Villa Gelati because something went wrong with the hotel we’d planned to stay at, but we were glad we came. I just wish we’d found it sooner, since I could happily have spent a few days there instead of one night.

Nino’s food is spectacular, especially the exquisite dinners, and Ika is wonderfully helpful and communicative. The people running the house are calm and respectful, and the service feels top notch and almost like being with family. The house has its quirks, as we all do, and as Georgia and life do too, but they can make anything work. This is my favorite place to stay for Georgian hospitality. I’ve been three times and will keep coming back whenever I’m in Kutaisi.
