The rooms are clean and the location is really good. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and they’re ready to help with whatever comes up while you’re visiting Georgia. David especially was the best. I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to Kutaisi.

It was my first time staying in a hostel, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out much better than I’d imagined. The place is spotless and has what a traveler needs, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It’s great value for money, and I’d happily recommend it if you’re looking for a clean stay. Thanks for such a warm welcome!

I found Hostel Mandaria hard to relax in, and wouldn’t recommend it if a good night’s sleep is your priority. It was noisy throughout, the doors squeaked badly, and lights stayed on all the time. Sound carries everywhere, so I could hear what was happening in other rooms and the shared areas. The rules and signs were everywhere, with cameras around and a long list of fines for different things. That made the atmosphere feel restrictive to me, without much of a hostel vibe. There’s a large dining area, but the cooking stove is tiny and frustrating to use. There also weren’t basic supplies like oil or condiments. Be ready for lots of stairs, too, since it’s on the third floor. It’s about an hour on foot from the city centre, though the small bus station is closer, around a 20-minute walk. I wouldn’t choose it again.

For December, the heating was ample, and the owner spoke fluent English and was accommodating. The hostel is extremely affordable, with private cubicles that have hangers, luggage space, a personal fan, and outlets. The shared bathrooms were clean and well kept, the lobby had a big eating area, and the WiFi was fast and reliable. Walking to the centre takes a while, though buses go along the street outside. Figuring out where they’re headed can be a challenge. The cooking area is a little small, but manageable if it isn’t crowded.

The hostel feels safe, spotless, modern, and very well run. I’ve stayed in lots of hostels, and this one stands out for how organized and comfortable everything is. The cameras seemed to me to be there for safety, and the rules and fines help keep the place clean and peaceful. I think people who object to the cameras may not realize how reassuring it can be to feel your belongings are secure. Highly recommended!
