Sweet home

We showed up without a reservation, and Nargis welcomed us warmly. Later she brought out cheese and khachapouri, just right for the mood while we watched Venus, Jupiter and Mercure, no joke. The whole family’s hospitality is what makes this place special. It has what you need too, with hot showers and cozy beds. Loveliest stop we found hiking through svanetia. Tourists doing the Ushguli trek should go a little past Iprari and stop here. The family gives you so much attention, partly because the usual tourist flow passes by, which doesn’t seem fair. They’re a cozy family, and I’m grateful for their hospitality. I wish them and the whole village prosperity.

The food was filling and nice, and the rooms and bathroom were clean and cozy. The hosts are friendly too. A very nice place to stay, recommended.

The garden was lovely for relaxing outside and taking in the village and surrounding views. The location is great, dinner came very quickly, and the rooms were warm with a heater. There weren’t enough hooks for clothes, but it was fine for one night. Hospitality was a problem for us. In the morning the host knocked and said we had only 10 minutes to check out because they needed to go to work, with no prior warning. The food was not good at all, and the vegetarian option wasn’t really vegetarian since those meals were cooked in the same pan as meat. I wouldn’t choose this place for the food, though it was enough for one night’s sleep.
