Nugzar's Guest House

We were four friends hiking and had stopped at Irinas guest house because it was advertised along the trail as a place that cooked meals. At first, she didn't want to serve us. After my friend spoke to her in Russian, she agreed, though reluctantly. For a small serving of egg omelette, salad, beans, wine, and bread, she charged us $30 total. I wouldn't have minded that price if the portions had matched it. If she wasn't prepared to cook for us, she could simply have said no, but she still wanted to make money.

The pictures show the area around Irina's place. The guesthouse itself is lovely, with all the commodities and great views. There's no wifi, but Irina let us use hers when we asked. The food was delicious and healthy, just right before continuing our journey to ushguli.

After getting lost in the mountains, we arrived hours later than planned. Irina didn't mind the delay and still served us a generous dinner. We slept in complete quiet, then left the next morning with our backpacks packed with fresh food.

Three of us came by for dinner, and were charged $30 for an omelette, a piece of khachapuri, and some salad. Irina seemed unsure about serving us when we got there, though she let us in despite not appearing to have food ready. She could have just said no, and we'd have found somewhere else.
