Guesthouse Elli

Very disappointed with the jacuzzi. We spent almost 2-3 hours trying to get it going, and the water that came out was really bad. Such a waste of time, especially with the rooms priced at such a premium. Why don’t they check things before handing over the rooms? Please don’t book rooms here.

Ellis Guesthouse and Cottage in Kazbegi is surrounded by majestic mountains, with stunning views of snow-capped peaks and lush valleys. The staff’s warm welcome and genuine kindness made the stay memorable. The rooms are cozy and well maintained, and the Georgian cuisine was delicious. There are also activities and excursions available, making it a great retreat for nature lovers and people looking for adventure. An incredible experience and a highly recommended, tranquil getaway in beautiful surroundings.

The guesthouse has a scenic location, but there were too many issues for us to consider it a good holiday stay. We had no breakfast, toiletries, food service, or room service, and there weren’t enough quilts to keep warm. Late at night we had to walk to the market for groceries to make breakfast, which could be especially inconvenient for families with children. There were no bottled water supplies either, so we had to drink tap water without knowing if it was safe. The owner took the room rent when she met us, but was never around when we needed help or had questions. The owners didn’t seem trained in hospitality, and the owner’s behavior and the lack of professional service were frustrating.

We stayed three nights with a friend, about a 10 minute walk from the centre. The patio has a lovely view, and the room was cosy, clean, and had all the basic amenities. The owners are caring and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Breakfast was good and kept us going through the day. Eli is an amazing host. Definitely recommend!
