North Kazbegi

The old lady was very friendly, though she didn’t speak English. We didn’t see the owner, but we could always reach him by phone. Still, we wouldn’t recommend staying here. The bathroom had a strong sewage smell, and the metal stairs were very noisy. Kids ran up and down them until late in the evening. We could smell the kitchen cooking in our room, and guests were cooking quite late at night. If you do book, choose one of the more expensive rooms for a good view.

We’d definitely come back to North Kazbegi. The host was so nice and helped us with everything. He arranged a taxi to Gergeti, then even called on his friends to come get us late in the evening. His mom was lovely too, and shared some amazing potato khinkali with us. The room was cozy and warm, much appreciated in cold October, and the balconies have amazing views. There’s also a nice common area with comfy sofas.

We felt right at home here. The room was warm, cozy, and convenient, with access to a fully equipped kitchen. It’s close to the main square in Kazbegi, so it was easy to find transport for trips around the village, as well as restaurants and supermarkets. The owner and his mum were helpful, responsive, and hospitable. Thank you for having us, I can highly recommend staying here.

The shared kitchen and living room are especially handy for families or anyone who wants to cook for themselves. This comfortable, well-equipped hotel and homestay also has spectacular views of Kazbegi.
