Targmani Cottages Kazbegi

The views are beautiful, and the village feels peaceful. We stayed four nights, and the price was good, about half what we paid in Tbilisi. Getting there is rough because the access road is rocky and unpaved, and payment is cash only. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived. Cleanliness and upkeep were poor: spider webs, broken lamps and dishes, and a bathroom that didn’t feel clean. Only four of the eight lights worked, and one toilet paper roll had to last three of us for four nights. There’s a small hot pool and a sauna that costs 30 lari per person per hour. With it at 0°C outside and no bathrobes provided, using them didn’t seem practical. Staff were mostly unresponsive and never checked in on us. The calm setting and mountain views are lovely, but service and maintenance need serious improvement.

For a Kazbegi stay with family or friends, I’d strongly recommend this calm place. Parking is available, and from the balcony you get a great view of the Kazbegi cathedral. We loved our stay.

We had a really comfortable, clean and cozy cottage, with a lovely view over the town and right in front of Kazbegi mountain. When the weather’s good, the outlook from here and the restaurant is the best. The pool water stays warm, so you can swim even in the evening. Absolutely worth it!

The mountain views from every direction made our two nights feel like a heavenly escape. The room had Nordic-style furniture, and nearly everything was new and in good shape. All the staff were attentive and helpful. The Georgian Shepherds were especially friendly and huge. The short entrance road is a little rocky, but it didn’t bother us. We had a good time and hope to return.
