Banovani Hotel

The family room was quiet enough for what we needed, and breakfast was good. It’s a very nice hotel in a quiet spot, not too far from Europe square. The bathroom is small.

The rooms were clean and looked after, and the beds and little amenities made it easy to relax. Getting to nearby sights and services was convenient, and the staff were courteous. I found it reasonably priced with a welcoming feel. Breakfast choices are limited, though, and you can hear through the thin, unsoundproofed walls.

The cleaning and breakfast staff were genuinely kind, and the beds were comfortable. Some rooms also have heated floors and bathrobes. On arrival, we were put in a much smaller room than the one we booked, though we could move to our original room the next day. The shower in the new room leaked. An employee came in without knocking and didn’t seem sorry about it, and the laundry payment discussion felt rude and aggressive. The receptionist also asked us to cancel our Booking.com reservation and pay cash for a discount, which struck us as odd. Customer service needs work.

The quiet setting was the best part for sleeping. We’ve stayed at other hotels in Tbilisi and elsewhere, and this was the best night’s sleep we’ve had. The place was very clean, the breakfast buffet excellent, and our room had all the listed amenities. We stayed for 2 days and would definitely recommend it. From the hill in Avlabari, it’s a 15-minute walk downhill to the historic center and 10 minutes to Holy Trinity Cathedral. We could see the cathedral from our room.
