Folk Boutique Hotel

I traveled with a group of 11 plus a guide. We booked six rooms, and our guide booked one as well. We couldn’t make the booking online, so we contacted the hotel directly. This was the most unpleasant hotel experience I’ve had. Getting around with luggage was a struggle. The elevator stops between floors, so we had to haul our heavy bags down stairs to reach it, then down half a flight again after getting off to reach the room. It felt like either a thoughtless design or an old building renovated into a hotel. My keycard wouldn’t open the room door. I went back to reception three or four times to have it reset, but the receptionist never offered to come upstairs and check it with me. Then I found the Wi-Fi had no internet in my room. I could join the local network, but there was no connection. The same receptionist said it worked because she was using it, as if she didn’t believe me. I went down to show that my devices couldn’t connect, and they started pinging once I was downstairs. I realized the Wi-Fi wasn’t working in my room. I returned with a screenshot, and she said she’d send a technician. Half an hour passed with no one coming up or giving an update, so I went down AGAIN. The technician had returned, fixed the local Wi-Fi spot, and it finally worked. The next day, my guide, who had been waiting at reception while I went up and down, told me the receptionist had said behind my back, “the internet doesn’t work, what can I do?” After all that, nobody apologized. I asked to change rooms and was told the hotel was fully booked. The next morning my guide told me he had booked another room later, while he was with the receptionist as I kept going up and down. So they LIED about not being able to move me. There was no extra latch on the door for added security, so it could be opened from outside with a master keycard. I don’t know if that’s standard in this part of the world, but as a woman traveling alone, I’d move to another hotel. The shower kept shifting between hot and cold, as if they’d cheaped out on the shower head and it couldn’t regulate the temperature. There were four pillows in the room and every one was very high, so I slept without one on the last night.

The rooms were tidy, and the location was perfect for exploring Tbilisi and its sights. I loved everything about the hotel. Also, thanks to Nino for the good service.

Breakfast was included, generous and great. The area is peaceful, with good restaurants and tourist spots nearby. I’d recommend the hotel. Visit the Big Aerospace Balloon for a nice view across the city.

My husband and I spent six days at Folk Boutique Hotel, and the staff were kind and accommodating from the first day through the last. Special thanks to Ms. Anna (Manager), Nico, and Sergio(Receptionists) for their hospitality. They helped with all our requests for the wedding preparations and reception, and their attentiveness made everything go smoothly. We also appreciated the bottle of wine they gave us on our wedding day. We’ll definitely return to this hotel on our next trip to georgia.
