Alex, the manager, got back to us right away whenever we had a question or request, and the whole staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was immaculate, with fresh towels and toiletries replenished every day. The hotel is on a quiet street, just a three-minute walk from a lively nightlife center, and many popular tourist spots are an easy walk away. Breakfast is no longer served, but there are breakfast restaurants within one short block. My wife and I also hired Alex for three private day trips, each lasting 12 to 15 hours. We saw almost every destination in the tourist guides, along with special off-the-beaten-track adventures, including an Amphora Beer tasting at a tucked-away brewery that also offered beer baths. Doing these trips with organized tour groups would have taken at least five days and wouldn't have included those extra adventures. It was a wonderful experience and great quality for the price. We'd give Hotel Nicolas six stars if we could.

Alex is a fantastic host. He goes beyond what you'd expect to make sure his guests have a great experience in Georgia, and can arrange tours anywhere in the country. The rooms are cozy and nice, and the staff are amazing.

The hostess was very rude, shouted, and didn't speak English well. This whole stay was a nightmare. After I'd paid 300 lari as a deposit for my cousin's four-night stay, I asked whether there would be another room for my friends arriving a day later. They said they always had one available. My friends never came, but the hotel charged me for their two nights anyway. I thought the reservation should have been canceled automatically if they didn't show up. They also kicked my cousin out of her room. I called the police, but unfortunately they didn't speak English. In the end, I didn't pay for the two nights for the rooms. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. I think this hotel rips people off, so be careful.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the owner and staff were really nice and accommodating. Nicolas hotel is a five-minute walk from the center of the Old Town. I can really recommend it.
