Sunflower Hotel

The woman running the place was easygoing and flexible. I probably would have left otherwise. I picked the upstairs room because it was large and I like old properties, then stayed six nights. The downstairs room has no outside windows. The house itself is lovely and spacious, which makes its condition such a shame. It was filthy when I arrived and never cleaned during my stay. Bedding was badly stained and smelled like it hadn't been washed, especially the pillows. The mattress springs dug into my bones and crunched constantly. The place was dusty and moldy, and the fridge says a lot. Nothing was done with the rubbish I left outside my door. It's an awfully run self-catering place, not a hotel by any means. I asked for a remote for the air conditioner but got brushed off, so I had no heating or cooling for all six days. Nights and mornings were cold. The doors to the room sit only inches above the ground, and whenever I shut the landing window, the woman opened it again because it caused a draft. The room got cold at night. The area felt poor and run-down, with construction underway to gentrify it. Kids played football in the street afternoons and nights. I could hear neighbors' loud phone calls and blaring music, and cars blasted music and screeched past even at midnight. People across the way were constantly looking in. The owner has a door inside the house that lets them see in, too. The front door was almost impossible to open, and it stuck one morning while my taxi waited outside. I don't know why guests lock it, since staff and neighbors monitor the place 24/7 and nothing could happen. Please check Google for pictures of how filthy the place is, and look at my real photos. Someone recently posted a fake review, claiming to have stayed in the balcony room and adding fake clean photos. They said they stayed there, but there's only one balcony room, and I was in it for six nights. After guests checked out, rooms were left unmade for three or four days.
