Tbilisee Hotel

We were two couples and booked two rooms with views. I’d suggest asking for a higher floor to see the whole city. Maidan is within walking distance, and if I come back to Tbilisi, I’d stay at this beautiful, authentic hotel again without hesitation.

The staff were courteous and pleasant, and the heating worked really well. We came as a couple for two nights in mid-November and were pleasantly surprised. The location puts everything close by, while the rooms are spacious and have balconies over the old city. Breakfast was plentiful, and there’s a bar and restaurant on the top floor with a view across the city. Definitely recommend it.

The steep hill was a downside. The hotel sits about halfway up, so walking back from restaurants or sights meant a climb each time. The front desk staff also never smiled or made me feel welcome. I booked four nights, and this ended up being the least enjoyable part of my Tbilisi trip. My first room was in the basement, facing a staff office, public restroom, and elevator. It was spacious, but I could hear water moving through the pipes whenever someone upstairs flushed, and I slept badly that first night. When I asked to switch, I was told the hotel was full. For the next two nights, I could only get an upgraded room by paying extra, which I did. Then I had to move again for the fourth night. Changing rooms so often was frustrating and inconvenient. I loved the rest of my time in Georgia, including the city and the tours, but this stay left me with a poor impression. In my view, that noisy basement space shouldn’t be used for guests. Tbilisi is fantastic, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Our outside room had three beds, two bathrooms, and a small kitchen. It was a great base in the middle of Tulissi, with restaurants and markets nearby and easy access to everywhere. The service was good, and the staff were great. I recommend staying here.
