Vera Guest House

We were really worried when we noticed one of our valuables was missing after coming back at night. We asked to see the CCTV footage, but the desk admin said he couldn’t do anything and that his manager wouldn’t be in until the next day. He was rude and no help at all. Our first room wouldn’t lock. When we asked for another, he told us nobody would come in if we didn’t mind, and that there was CCTV. The replacement room was smaller and had no towels. It wasn’t very clean either, and one towel had a stain. We had to beg for a fresh one. We weren’t even greeted when we arrived, and the admin didn’t speak clearly or give us decent information.

The view from our room was absolutely insane, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. We had fresh, delicious breakfast every morning too. The whole stay was fantastic and unforgettable.

The bathroom was a mess: the drain smelled bad, and water from a leaking bidet hose soaked the whole room. The shower towels were small, and the bathrobe was so thin it felt like a bedsheet. There was just one robe for two of us. Housekeeping came while we were in the room, and although we asked them to return after we went out, they never did. We left early the next day so we wouldn’t miss them, but they only brought bottled water and clean towels. They didn’t clean anything else or take the used towels. Parking was listed as available with the reservation, but staff only suggested the street, warning us we might have trouble parking in front of houses. The whole street was lined with houses, so we couldn’t find a spot, and they wouldn’t help. The staff were indifferent. One employee slept on the sofa at night and didn’t wake when we called. Breakfast was average, and the Super Deluxe room I booked was small.

The room was very cold, and the air conditioning wasn’t working. We asked three times if they could do anything, but the guy insisted it wasn’t cold at all. On the second night I woke up at 1:30 and left for another hotel. We had paid for one more night, but they refused to refund us. The staff were very unprofessional.
