Maia was a charming, generous host, and this little guesthouse surpassed what we expected. The only snag was that it was full when we tried to book another night. I’d absolutely recommend it.

We loved staying in this cozy spot in Telavi. Its historic feel and the owner’s warm welcome made it a great place to stay.

The hosts are such warm, lovely people, and they treated us to cheese, bread, and excellent homemade wine. Maya, the owner, was in Tbilisi while we were there, so unfortunately we didn’t get to meet her, though I’d have liked to talk with her. The house is an authentic old-style home with a carved wooden balcony, full of beautiful traditional details: old photos, kitchenware, textiles, embroidered vintage-style bed linen, rugs, pillows, mirrors, and lamps. I wanted to look closely at everything and kept taking pictures. Our cozy, very comfortable room also had modern conveniences like a mini fridge, hair dryer, and lots of different lights, plus a chimney with wood provided by the hosts. Guests can use the kitchen with a fireplace, tea, coffee, and more. We’ll definitely return. It’s a hidden gem.

The host Maja was so lovely and helpful, and the dog was cute and well behaved. We couldn’t have asked for a better host. It’s easy to relax on the veranda chairs outside your room, or in the patio beneath the big Kaki Tree. The rooms are well equipped and thoughtfully put together, keeping the place’s original character while still feeling like home, with everything we needed. Highly recommend.
