Jackson Guesthouse Elmina

Breakfast was an African delicacy and arrived exactly on time. The staff made me feel like I belonged there, almost as if I were at home. I’m very grateful for the lovely welcome and excellent interruption. This was the best place compared with others I’ve visited. Compliments to the staff, and we’ll definitely meet again. Thank you.

Getting around was easy: the place is close to the main highway, so buses and taxis to Cape Coast, Takoradi or Accra are easy to find, and Elmina township is reachable by car or on foot. The main market is nearby too, with local meals, fresh coconuts and drinks. My room was neat, well kept and air-conditioned. I enjoyed my stay and hope to return soon.

The shower was nice, and the AC worked great. There was also a mini fridge, which was a plus. Breakfast came on time, and I’d stay here again, though the road to the hotel was awful and another way in is needed. The basics were there, but the beds had only a blanket and no sheets, and the bathrooms had no towels. In this heat, a shower is necessary, so a dry towel matters, and I’d rather sleep on a sheet than directly on a bed cover. The ladies were napping when guests arrived, which didn’t make a good impression.

The workers were nice and helped change the sheets, but they hadn’t been clean or changed when I arrived. The room air was really dusty, and there was no Wi-Fi. It was my first hotel stay, and not a great one.
