Someone R.
A very kind Italian owner, a peaceful garden, and the best Italian food we had in Ghana. Service was friendly and surprisingly fast. Breakfast is great too, especially the Bialetti Coffee and amazing pancakes.

Krokobite Garden feels like an oasis for relaxing and feeling good. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the green, blossoming garden adds to the atmosphere. The most memorable part is how the Spanish and Italian owners make you feel welcome, with good spirit and nice pizza.
A gorgeous, peaceful place with fantastic service. Everything I tried on the menu was delicious, and the food and drinks were phenomenal. Such a special spot. I'll miss it, and couldn't recommend it more.
I wish I'd checked the negative reviews before booking, because many of them ring true. The place doesn't live up to the hype. The inn's grounds are pretty, with a nice garden and plenty of animals, though the photos make them look even better. The restaurant food was tasty, if a little expensive. Our room was clean and cool, but the bathroom had an unbearable smell. Some lights didn't work, and there were no sun loungers by the pool, though those things weren't a big deal. The hotel's location surprised us. It's in the middle of a narrow street. A helpful employee welcomed us, but things felt disorganized. The owner sat in the restaurant and didn't greet us. He gave us the Wi-Fi rather reluctantly, and it didn't work in the room. The whole interaction felt strange and unpleasant. The beach is a one-minute walk away, but before we went, the employee warned us to walk in only one direction because there were thieves on the other side. Passing through the backyard of another restaurant brought us to the beach, with several stalls and restaurants. There, people yelled at us to buy something or go into a restaurant, like at other tourist spots. The supposedly safer stretch was very short, the water came in far, and there was trash everywhere. We felt uneasy, and lying on the beach with a towel to relax wasn't an option. We arrived on a Saturday and no one warned us that a nearby bar would play very loud music from 3 pm until 5 am the next day. Our room faced the bar, so we didn't sleep at all. The next day, we told the owner we wanted to leave. At first he seemed fine with it, but later came back looking personally offended. He didn't ask why or try to be hospitable. Instead, he accused us of ruining his plans and said he'd held the room for us for months, even though we'd booked it normally. We had paid for all the nights without a fuss, so he had his money and hadn't lost out because we were leaving. It felt like he just wanted us to feel bad. Then he ignored us. Very unprofessional. A local friend picked us up, and immediately noticed that the place seemed to be run by Europeans for Europeans. I was the only black guest I saw. It felt like they offered as little as possible and sold it as “cool” and “authentic.” There are other places that welcome everyone.
We spent six nights at Kokrobite Garden and were treated really well. The staff and owner were very helpful and did their best to make our stay pleasant. The garden, pool and restaurant area are calm and relaxing, while just outside you get the lively Kokrobite beach vibe. Our first room was new, clean and good. After two nights, the owner offered us a more spacious room without us asking. He genuinely thought it would make our stay better, and it did. Thanks, Franco! If you're there to surf, the break is just a minute's walk from the garden. Stop by Mr Bright Surf shop for tours and information about the spots and tides. Oh, and the coffee and food are very nice too.
