The Palms by Eagles Takoradi

Right in the middle of Takoradi municipality, with lovely views from the spacious rooms. The service was spot on and the staff were friendly and ready to help. Breakfast was superb, with a range of continental ingredients to choose from. A great place to stay and enjoy Takoradi.

Everything was good: the room, food, and service. The gym treadmill could be better, but it was okay. The location is a bit far inside.

I was on standby while the vessel was operating and stayed 29 nights on a full-board plan. The building, swimming pool, and camera were positives. Dinner staff were also good, with friendly service and smiles, even though I once waited an hour for food when nobody else was there. There were plenty of problems elsewhere. Personnel seemed unprepared, especially at breakfast and lunch in the restaurant, except for Madlyn. They didn’t smile much and didn’t seem to follow customer requests. Simple things were missing: bacon wasn’t available every day, and from 6 to 9 a.m. they put out only 200 g of Nutella for everyone. There was always a spoon missing from the table, and espresso wasn’t included at breakfast, though I expect that as standard in an international hotel. Near the weekend, management messed up the food order, and chicken, beef, pasta, and even shrimp were missing for three days. That’s not acceptable for a restaurant serving outside customers too. They also didn’t promptly ask what drink you wanted. If there’s no drink listed on the tablet, the waiter should come and ask. The camera needed maintenance, including some lighting, and the gym needed maintenance too.

The service is very bad and below standard. It’s a four-star hotel, but the service felt below one star. If you go to the restaurant, allow at least two hours. Nobody may come to attend to you, and if someone does, they’ll say the food is still being prepared. A lot of waiting and wasted time.
