Arewa Sunshine Hotel

We were sorry to leave after such a good stay. The owner was kind and always ready to help my colleagues and me with whatever we needed, and the welcome and service felt just as good as the food and rooms. The rooms were fine, with working AC, a hot-water shower, TV, and mini fridge. The restaurant served some good meals, though it closed at 6 pm. I think that may have been because of the fasting period. It all felt so much like home that we'll definitely come back.

The local and continental food was mouth watering. The beds were really comfortable, and the powerful A/Cs kept things comfy. With solar energy and a standby power plant, there was no worry about a blackout. A great place to feel at home.

The staff tried to be pleasant, but dealing with the manager was difficult because of the bullying and aggressive behavior. Management kept insisting we pay for breakfast even though it was included, and also claimed the rooms hadn't been paid for upfront.

It works well as a retreat spot for a small company, especially if they can take over the whole hotel. Arewa Sunshine has a warm, reassuring, homely feel, but still handles things professionally and discreetly. Guests get a complimentary drink on arrival, and the staff know their work and offer the generous hospitality you'd expect in northern Ghana.
